Edgar is a data science associate to the Future Society, leading the engineering for the AI against Modern Slavery (AIMS) project. He's passionate about turning complex and disorganised data into meaningful information to aid decision-makers. With an agile and hands-on approach Edgar is proficient in Python, R, SQL, and cloud technologies while specialising in natural language (machine learning), product and user data. Over the past 5 years Edgar helped venture-backed startups as well as multi-brand enterprises to shift into a more data-driven culture. This has been achieved by ensuring good data and providing on-site trainings to teams on how they can make better use of AI and machine learning. Edgar also founded a mission-driven data consultancy bravetech.io to further promote the wise use of large datasets in the society. Coming from a broad background he holds a joint Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a major in economics, issued by the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam. Edgar is from Estonia and has lived on 3 continents in 9 countries and is currently based in Barcelona, Spain.

In these sessions, we invite any and all from expert to beginner to share their ML experience, knowledge, and projects. The goal is to provoke interesting project-related discussions to help the presenting and audience learn and progress their knowledge and skills. Any and all ML topic areas are welcome.

The Future Society is an independent nonprofit think-and-do tank curating an up-to-date repository of >16K of those statements.
