Sunil is currently the CTO and co-founder of Flip. Prior to that, he was the Head of Eng (Sr. SDM) for the NLP service Comprehend at AWS. Sunil also served as the Principal Deep Learning Scientist at AWS DeepRacer.
Prior to AWS, Sunil co-founded Neon Labs, where he was responsible for engineering, scaling the team, and developing technologies for video processing, image CDN with A/B testing framework, and neuroscience and machine learning-based image "clickability" algorithms and models. He has also built massively scalable systems, including the Zynga API Gateway, web servers/proxies, and distributed filesystems for companies such as Zynga, EMC, and NetApp.
Sunil Mallya holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Brown University.
